Traverse its many miles on foot or climb into the saddle and explore the area’s cycling or horse riding routes. And, if you’re keen to explore outdoors, Surrey also boasts RHS Garden Wisley, the Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden, and Box Hill (immortalised as a picnic site in Jane Austen’s Emma).

We offer high-end holiday rentals with a focus on wellbeing and luxury – which often includes hot tubs, saunas and swimming pools. In Surrey, Marama features a hot tub, gym and outdoor heated pool. You’ll also find a hot tub in many of our properties in West Sussex and Hampshire.

Are your cottage rentals suitable for family holidays?

We love welcoming families to our boltholes and enjoy creating the kind of family holidays that everyone treasures. Because many of our properties are generously sized, they offer the luxury of space – plenty of room to spend time together, as well as finding peaceful moments alone.

What are the must-see attractions in Surrey?

If you’re planning a self-catering stay in Surrey, you’ll be within easy reach of some of the UK’s top historic attractions. The splendid Hampton Court Palace in nearby Richmond upon Thames offers a glimpse into the Tudor court of Henry VIII. Guildford Castle, thought to have been built by William the Conqueror, offers fantastic views of historic Guildford. And, at Polseden Lacey, as well as exploring the 1,600-acre estate and Edwardian mansion, you can book a game on the croquet lawn on weekends from April to September.

For free-range family holidays, Bocketts Farm Park ticks all the boxes. This working farm is a popular local attraction, offering the chance to play, take on countryside adventure trails, and meet the farm animals. Frensham Little Pond, cared for by the National Trust, is another great space in which to unwind and explore, with flat, dry heathland and a wildlife viewing platform.
