And, at Polseden Lacey, as well as exploring the 1,600-acre estate and Edwardian mansion, you can book a game on the croquet lawn on weekends from April to September.
For free-range family holidays, Bocketts Farm Park ticks all the boxes. This working farm is a popular local attraction, offering the chance to play, take on countryside adventure trails, and meet the farm animals. Frensham Little Pond, cared for by the National Trust, is another great space in which to unwind and explore, with flat, dry heathland and a wildlife viewing platform.
Surrey is a year-round destination. Spring and summer bring colourful gardens and countryside walks, autumn is perfect for woodland scenery, and winter offers cosy cottages, historic houses, and festive markets.
