Nestled deep within the South Downs and the Surrey Hills, ‘Hurst Vale’ is a labour of love, built by the owners in 2021. Found on a beautiful 1.5-acre landscaped plot and surrounded by woodland, this stunning bolthole is truly befitting of its location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The ground floor features a spacious open-plan living area, with breathtaking views, and comfortable dining for 16 guests. No detail has been spared in the kitchen and a private chef would feel right at home here! With delicate accents of sage green and terracotta, this calming space also boasts a log burner and is ideal for relaxation.

Along the hall, a stylish formal sitting room offers a blissful television free zone, with open fire, books galore, and luxurious furnishings. Guests are even supplied with logs, felled from trees on site.

The main house has seven stylish bedrooms and five bathrooms, four of which are en suite. The bedrooms include two super kings (one with zip and link), three king-size and two doubles. You'll find a further king-size bedroom and en suite in the handy self-contained annex.

The multi-level design of the outside space is just as considered as that of the interior. To the front there is a grass tennis court, available from June to September, which can also be used as a croquet lawn. Guests are also invited to choose and harvest seasonal produce from the owner’s vegetable and herb garden, found adjacent to the lawn.

To the side and rear of the property, a beautiful meadow leads you down to a gently flowing stream. Whilst exploring children will stumble across a tree house, with power and lighting! The owners kindly provide all manner of sports equipment, so that the active members of your group can really make the most of what is on offer.

On the south facing terrace you will find a hot tub and a swimming pool, heated to a balmy 30 degrees, via a ground source heat pump. With mini members of the group in mind, the pool has child friendly steps built-in. The whole area has a secure fence with a safety lock and the pool features a robust cover.

Embrace outdoor living further and bring your entertaining onto the upper terrace, where you’ll find a gas BBQ and ample space for al fresco dining and relaxing.

We are delighted that ‘Hurst Vale’ happily welcomes two well-behaved dogs. Reassuringly, the gardens are fully fenced, though the owners do advise that the occasional deer makes an appearance, having jumped the fence from the woods!

Created for all members of the family, ‘Hurst Vale’ is an exquisite property, with something to keep everyone entertained, whether the pursuit is culinary, sporting, being at one with nature or just pure relaxation.

Owner recommendations

Where to eat and drink

The restaurant at Applegarth Farm is well worth a visit (as is their deli!), they use home-grown ingredients from their kitchen garden.

We’re spoilt with lots of lovely country pubs, with great atmospheres and decent food! Try the Three Horseshoes in Thursley, or The Duke of Cambridge in Tilford.

What to do in the local area

The area is blessed with a huge amount of walking options within a short distance.

The National Trust owned Devil's Punch Bowl is a 2-mile walk away from the house. Hankey Common, a beautiful heathland, is good for walking and mountain biking, and is only a 3-mile drive away.
