Escape to the tranquillity of your very own private treescape. Nestled within 65 acres of ancient woodland in West Sussex, this secret cabin is just five miles from the charming village of Billingshurst, with a private hot tub to enjoy beneath the canopy.

The log cabin has been beautifully crafted from green oak by local craftsmen. Inside, a light-filled, open-plan space provides everything needed for a comfortable stay for two, complete with a separate shower room/WC.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a combi oven/grill/microwave, fridge and ice box, and a Nespresso coffee machine. Above this, you'll find a small but cosy mezzanine level, perfect for reading a book or playing board games.

With very little mobile signal and only "pocket" Wi-Fi, the Cabin may not be high-tech, but comfort is certainly in abundance here. As night falls, retreat to the luxurious king-size bed and start to feel your mind and body unwind.

On long summer evenings, stargaze from the hot tub, or sit around the fire pit, toasting marshmallows and recounting tales. During cooler months, snuggle up inside with a cup of cocoa or something stronger. 

We do recommend you bring a car due to the remote location of the property. Parking is a short walk from the Cabin, along a private footpath, but a wheelbarrow is provided for transporting luggage and supplies.

One of a kind, and quite unlike any property you will have stayed in before, this beautiful woodland bolthole is the epitome of a romantic sanctuary for two, or a blissful escape for one. If you're seeking secret cabins in West Sussex, it doesn't get more hidden or enchanting than this.

Nr. Billingshurst, West Sussex

The Cabin is tucked away in a genuinely rural setting, surrounded by woodland and countryside. Billingshurst is around 10 minutes by car for shops, cafés and everyday essentials, with local footpaths and bridleways nearby for walks straight from the door. For a longer walk, The Mens Nature Reserve is around 10 minutes away, while the Wey-South Path and Downs Link are around 15 minutes by car. Arundel is around 20 minutes away, with its castle, riverside walks and independent shops. The South Downs are around 25 minutes by car, while the Sussex coast is around 30–40 minutes away.

Where to eat and drink

About 10 minutes from the Cabin, The Milk Churn, found next door to Woodsomes Farm in Rudgwick, is a great find for coffee, and perfect for refuelling during a country walk along the Downs Link.

Just a few minutes' drive away in Rudgwick, The Fox in Bucks Green, is a great local pub. They also make fantastic sourdough bread in their deli, which is not to be missed!

In my opinion, there is no better way to enjoy an evening drink, than taking your glass into the woods. Sip quietly - you’ll find real relaxation.

What to do in the local area

Be sure to contact Clive Cobie for an immersive forest experience. Clive lives with his dog Sydney in the woods surrounding the Cabin. He will take you on a foraging tour or give you a Bushcraft session.

Just a short drive from the Cabin, The Blue Ship is a lovely little country pub in The Haven, near Billingshurst. It's family-run, full of character and a good spot to stop for a drink, with local beers and cask ales served from the traditional hatch.

I booked this lovely cabin in the woods for my wife and i for 2 nights. I can't recommend this place enough , if you are looking for isolated peace where you can clear your head of the 1000 things everyday life brings this is the place. So private and so quiet. Perfect for what we wanted. The cabin is cosy and has everything you need. Very quirky and comfortable, and has beautiful oak beams. Hot tub was very nice and well maintained. Morning coffee on the patio was so good. The grounds were well maintained but also left slightly wild which was really nice. It was a very nice touch that we had fresh bread and the newspaper delivered for each day we were there. Kate was so good and made sure everything was just right and fully equipped. You can tell she really cared that we were comfortable and happy. I highly recommend Luxury Boltholes and this cabin.

I'm apprehensive to advertise how incredibly lovely this experience was, as I'd honestly rather keep it all to myself! However, I also need to express my praise, gratitude, and appreciation for this magical place. It is completely isolated in a beautiful forest where one will absolutely not be disturbed in any way; partially due to the lack of phone signal and temperamental WiFi but that is exactly how it should be. The layout is impeccable and the vibe is just lovely. The night sky is stunning given the lack of light pollution and the only noise interference is birdsong. I honestly wish I were back there right now. Thank you for an amazing stay, we very much hope to return again soon.

A stunning woodland cabin in a perfectly secluded spot. The attention to detail was incredible and the hosts were extremely thoughtful and generous - it was my birthday and so they left me a beautiful hamper packed with delicious Sussex goodies (including England's finest sparkling wine, Nyetimber!). Loved the bbq, the hot tub and the woodburner - we had everything we needed and it was super cosy. Some great local pub suggestions, too. Also very grateful to the hosts for finding and returning a necklace I left behind. Will recommend to others, for sure.

I’m so pleased I found this tranquil place to book for myself and my boyfriend for his birthday. It is absolutely idyllic. We made the most of all the facilities, at the cabin - including the oven, log burner and jacuzzi! Kate was incredibly responsive when I had a couple of mini questions. I would highly recommend and will be booking again in the future.

The cabin was wonderful - very scenic, beautiful and peaceful, lots of privacy for the hot tub too. Accompanied with an upstairs viewing pod area which was nice, and a lovely hamper upon arrival.

Wow! A little slice of heaven. I almost don't want to leave a glowing review as I want to keep this little paradise a secret but if you're looking for a cabin straight out of a rom com film this is it! Beautifully and tastefully decorated this hideaway has all you need and more! All the basics were there including bedding, towels and your kitchen staples but the little extra details is what made our stay so easy and stress free. As described there's no signal so talk to each other like it's 1995 or bring some games if you're not too busy in the hot tub, walking or making s'mores on the fire pit, this place is amazing, we will definitely be returning. Tips for anyone staying in the future - tin foil if you're making s'mores, a torch or two (no naked flames) as it can get dark, an outside blanket for some star gazing and some flip flops for nipping out the hot tub.
