Nr. Newtown, Isle of Wight
From £393 per night
Set within 55 acres of exquisite private grounds, the Grade II-listed manor house on the Isle of Wight is an ideal setting for gathering family and friends. Dating from the 17th century and fabricated from Island stone, this elegant home blends historic original features with beautiful modern furnishings.
The Manor House comfortably sleeps 14, with six sumptuous bedrooms (three king-size, one double, a twin and a children's room with four singles), two en-suites and two family bathrooms. The newly refurbished adjacent cottage sleeps a further two (a zip and link bed), with its own en suite.
The kitchen has everything you could need (and more), making entertaining even a large group a breeze. With the additional scullery and utility room, and elegant dining room, you’ll be able to focus purely on culinary creations. Or why not hire a private chef?
And, if the weather is in your favour, serve drinks on the sun terrace, or go one step further and dine al fresco.
There are plenty of tranquil spots in which to tuck yourself away with a book, whether this means cosying up by the open fireplace in the stately living room, or outside in the immaculately kept gardens.
For those with energy to burn, head to the all-weather tennis court to practice your serve or enjoy a dip in the outdoor heated swimming pool.
With something to keep every member of your party happy, The Manor House is a superb location for a manor house holiday or special occasion.

The Manor House lies in a tiny village, on the northwest side of the island, between Yarmouth and Newport, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area offers a fantastic variety of things to do and is ideal for walkers, with unlimited coastline to explore on your doorstep. Head to Tennyson Down and across to the Needles for unbeatable views or take a gentle stroll through the boardwalks of Newtown National Nature Reserve, where you’ll discover all manner of local wildlife. If you’re feeling more adventurous, cycle around Newtown Creek, or bring your canoe or paddleboard and explore by water.
Enjoy your morning coffee by taking a mug and wandering down to Shalfleet Quay to watch the sun come up.
I’d recommend The George at Yarmouth for an evening drink - or once again, Shalfleet Quay to watch the sun set and the geese fly in!
There are plenty of restaurants to choose from. The New Inn is conveniently just at the end of the lane! The Terrace, with stunning views, overlooking the Solent at Yarmouth. Or, if you are looking for more of a ‘scene’ with a DJ, head to The Hut in Colwell Bay.
For a fantastic walk, head up to Tennyson Down and across to the Needles.
You mustn’t miss Newtown Creek – cycle around the Creek and walk through the boardwalks. Or head across to Hamstead and paddle board back to the Quay! Bring your canoe or paddle board and explore by water!
